Message from Associate Dean, B.Tech

The B.Tech. programmes at Indian Institute of Science are designed to prepare students for high-impact careers in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. Set within IISc's vibrant research ecosystem, the programme emphasizes conceptual depth, flexibility, and close faculty engagement, preparing students for impactful careers in the industry as well as advanced studies. The BTech in Mathematics and Computing, introduced in 2022, was the Institute's first BTech programme and reflects this vision through its strong integration of mathematics, computation, and modern engineering perspectives. From the academic year 2026, IISc will further expand its BTech offerings with three new programmes in Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanics and Computing. These programmes build on IISc's research strengths and are designed to address emerging technological and societal challenges while maintaining the Institute's hallmark academic rigor and interdisciplinarity.
